Montenegro Progress Report 2014

Progress Report Montenegro InfographThe charticle presents the main conclusions of the Montenegro Progress Report 2014, in particular the developments and recommendations related to the issues of anti-corruption and accountability. Particular focus of the charticle is placed on Chapter 23: Judiciary and fundamental and Chapter 24: Justice, freedom and security and Chapter 29: Customs union.

The EU’s new approach to membership negotiations, which is being implemented for the first time with Montenegro, means that Chapters 23 and 24 are to be kept open until the negotiations end. The EU’s 2014 Progress Report on Montenegro, released in October, critisises the country’s performance in the fight against organised crime and corruption.
