SELDI’s member, the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT) and the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law are organising a Leadership Academy for Development in Podgorica on 1-5 July 2019.
The course will focus around a common set of five challenges that policymakers encounter in most policy reform initiatives: building coalitions of stakeholders; implementing policy reform; changing the behaviour of target populations (businesses, individuals and/or frontline workers); building state capacity; scaling up and avoiding mission drift in reforms.
The keynote speaker during the event will be Dr. Francis Fukuyama. He is Olivier Nomellini Senior Fellow at University’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) and the Mosbacher Director at FSI’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law. He is also a professor (by courtesy) of Political Science. Dr. Fukuyama has written widely on issues in development and international politics.
For more details, please see the call for participants at CDT’s website.
The deadline for applications is 31 May 2019.
